Celebrate the contributions of the LGBTQ+ community to Ireland’s fight for independence and the ten-year anniversary of marriage equality with us in the GPO for Dublin Pride!
This special guided tour will explore the lives, relationships and roles of a community whose impact on Irish history is often unrecognised.
Your guide will bring you through the difficulties faced by queer individuals in the 20th century and how their efforts towards Irish independence and equality cannot be understated. Discover the people who would shape Ireland’s revolution and would continue to rebel against the systems in place long after independence had been achieved.
Our understanding of and language surrounding the LGBTQ+ community has developed significantly since the early 20th century and this specially researched tour will strive to be inclusive while also communicating the limitations of the community during this time period.
Booking is essential as availability is limited. This specially researched tour will last approximately 1 hour and patrons are welcome to enjoy the museum at their own leisure after the tour. There are over 100 artefacts, interactive touchscreens and an immersive film experience explore!
Please note this tour includes descriptions of violence and may not be suitable for children under the age of 12.
