GPO Museum is delighted to feature ‘Pop up Trad’ as part of TradFest 2026.  Enjoy the sounds of acclaimed trad musicians Eilís Lavelle (harpist) and Dáire Ó Maoildeirg (uilleann piper) in the historic surrounds of the GPO Museum.  At the award-winning GPO Museum, witness Ireland’s history from revolution to modern times dramatically unfold before your eyes!

Harpist Eilís Lavelle, from Monaghan, is a recognised exponent of the Irish harp. Eilís has been playing the harp for many years and has performed worldwide at various festivals, giving concerts, workshops and masterclasses. In recent years, she has gained extensive experience as a performer and teacher of the harp. Broadcasts include Tg4, BBC Television and Radio, RTÉ.

Dáire Ó Maoildeirg is an uilleann piper whose music draws on both traditional and classical influences. A student at University College Dublin, he has recorded his own composition with Dónal Lunny. Dáire is also a member of the National Folk Orchestra of Ireland, with whom he has performed at venues around Ireland, including the Wexford Opera House.

 

Performances will be 15 minutes in duration.

Eilís Lavelle will perform each day at 11:15 am, 12:15pm, 1:15 pm

Dáire Ó Maoildeirg will perform each day at 2:15 pm, 3:15 pm, 4.15 pm
